Isaiah architecture designer VIA has just revealed the VIPRO VP7710, a fanless tablet-like PC that features a 10.4-inch touchscreen. Seen below, the portable PC is aimed at applications like wireless POI/ticketing/billing, self-service kiosk/POS control, digital signage, delivery and fleet management, container traffic management and others.
For starts, VIA is offering the VIPRO VP7710 in two versions - the VP-7710-R1E16A1 powered 1.6GHz Eden ULV CPU and the VP-7710-R1C10A1 which is equipped with a 1 GHz C7 processor. Measuring 300.4 x 205.9 x 55.2 mm and weighting in 3.6 kg, the touchpanel PCs have a heavy steel and aluminum chassis, a screen resolution of 800 x 600 pixels, a motherboard with the CX700M2 chipset, UniChrome Pro II integrated graphics, up to 1GB of RAM, a 2.5-inch hard drive bay and a an CompactFlash memory card slot.
VIA's creation also boasts Gigabit Ethernet, USB and COM connectivity and, depending on the order, Widows XP, Windows XP Embedded, Windows CE 6.0 or Linux as an OS (operating system). According to VIA, the VIPRO PCs are now available to system developers.
